The Photographer
I’m Eivind. Pleasure to meet you. I’m easy going and I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about stuff.
I play the guitar, and I studied music for 4 years. You won’t find me on iTunes.
I picked up photography the summer of 2009. At least that’s when I got my first big-boy camera (the Canon 450D/Rebel-something). I love taking pictures, and I love shooting HDR (High Dynamic Range). HDR is something I discovered before I started taking pictures myself. If you hate HDR, you can tell me.
I used work at a solar silicon factory. We did a lot of top-secret stuff, like MI6 and CIA.
I’m from Norway, but I live in Melbourne, Australia now. I’m doing a degree in Economics & Finance here.
The Blog
I started Tricks of Exposure in August, 2010. I figured a blog would be a good place to put my photos (in addition to Flickr), and I named it Tricks of Exposure because I do have a few tricks up my sleeve that might be good for photographers just getting started. I’m sure my tricks will be more advanced and cool when I get more advanced and cool myself.
The Gear
I know I like to know what other photographers use, and I guess I’m not the only one who’s like that. So here’s what I use:
- Canon 5d mk ii, the best camera I’ve ever tried
- Canon 17-40mm f/4L, a cool wide-angle lens for uhm.. wide stuff. Does a great job on a crop-sensor camera too!
- Canon 50mm f/1.4, great in low light, super-sharp and super-cheap compared to the f/1.2L
- Canon 85mm f/1.8, also great in low light, great for “candid” shots
- Gitzo GT2541EX Tripod Legs for getting sharp brackets
- Giotto Tripod Head
